  • CWA for Palestine Condemns United Airlines’ Arms Shipments to Israel

On September 9, The Intercept revealed that United Airlines has been shipping weapons to Israel on commercial passenger flights. This practice exploits civilian infrastructure and workers, including AFA-CWA members, to arm Israel in its genocide in Gaza and campaign of military violence across the region. It also poses a danger to the thousands of flight attendants and passenger service workers that CWA represents.

According to research from the Movement Research Unit, Palestinian Youth Movement, People’s Embargo for Palestine, and the Democratic Socialists of America, United Airlines was involved in the transport of nearly 3000 shipments of military cargo to Israel from July 2025 through February 2026. The airline paused its service to Israel at the onset of the US-Israeli war on Iran, but resumed flights—and shipments of military cargo—this week. The majority of the military hardware transported by United is intended for Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems and departs from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.

As workers, we demand that our employers stop facilitating the genocide of the Palestinian people. The flight attendants, passenger service professionals, aviation workers, pilots, airport staff, and other everyday people who travel through our airports and on our planes deserve better than to unknowingly participate in a war effort that has taken tens of thousands of lives, destroyed cities, and displaced millions.

CWA for Palestine condemns United Airlines not only for risking airport and aviation workers’ physical safety, but for making them complicit in the US and Israel’s war crimes. Workers must stand up to end their exploitation—especially when their labor is used in the supply chain of death, killing fellow workers abroad.

  • CWA for Palestine Attends 2026 CWA Human Rights Conference

CWA4P attended the 2026 CWA Human Rights Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from August 16 to 19. We were immensely grateful to meet so many of our inspiring union siblings.

Palestine is a human rights issue, and one on which our union can take action. Our fellow workers in Palestine are facing apartheid, settler violence, and genocide at the hands of Israel and the U.S. government.

Our solidarity cannot stop at any borders. We have the duty to stand with Palestine, and we can make a difference.

  • Why Should CWA Stand with Palestine?

    In Palestine,

Israel’s military assault on Gaza has killed more than 250 journalists and more than 1500 healthcare workers, in many cases through targeted assassinations and the bombing of hospitals.

Israel has damaged or destroyed all of Gaza’s higher education institutions, interrupting the studies of thousands of students and killing hundreds of university staff.

    At home,

Our bosses—from universities to tech giants to hospitals—have fired workers just for expressing solidarity with Palestine.

Our Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim colleagues are facing prejudice and hostile work environments in newsrooms, tech offices, hospitals, campuses, and more.

    What can we do?

Talk to your coworkers and organize your local to pass a resolution in solidarity with Palestine and Palestinian trade unions.

Host a teach-in and discussion circle with your local to talk about the importance of solidarity with Palestine.

Refuse to endorse candidates who receive donations from the Israel lobby and/or won’t commit to cutting off weapons to Israel.

Donate to and fundraise for the Palestinian Postal Service Workers Union (bit.ly/cwa4pfundraiser).

Pressure your workplace to divest funds from Israel and from complicit tech companies, weapons manufacturers, and financial institutions.

Join CWA4P and help build a powerful network of unionists ready to fight against all threats to the working class.
